In addition to vacation and sick leave, employees receive paid time off for a range of situations to promote and support work-life balance including approximately 16.5 paid holidays, time off for civic activities including voting and jury duty, and bereavement leave.

Currently, the university observes a summer schedule program allowing a reduced work week during the summer terms without a change in employee pay. Office hours begin immediately following graduation and are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break for employees Monday through Thursday through the end of July. Offices are closed on Fridays during this schedule.

Nine-month faculty do not accrue sick or vacation leave and instead are covered by the university’s current faculty short leave disability and parental leave programs for time away from campus in certain circumstances.
