The Federal Work-Study Program (FWSP) is a federally funded program that established by Congress through the Higher Education Act of 1965 to assist students in need to earn money to meet educational costs. Participation in the program is determined by the student's financial need and is awarded as part of the financial aid package. Earnings can be applied to the tuition bill, or used by the student to cover costs such as books, personal items, and transportation. Students eligible for Federal Work-Study may work on campus in a variety of departments. Students also have the opportunity to participate in unique community service based work experiences off-campus. Please contact Student Employment for more information. Not sure if you qualify for Federal Work-Study? Contact Student Financial Services at [email protected] or 405-208-5211 to find out.

Institutional/Departmental Work-Study is an alternative form of funding for students who do not qualify for Federal Work-Study funds. Offerings and regulation of institutional/departmental jobs mirrors the Federal Work-Study Program. Institutional/Departmental funds are not permissible for off-campus use.

StuPro, or student professional jobs are designed for juniors, seniors, and graduate students interested in receiving hands-on experience in their field of study by assisting Â鶹´«Ã½ faculty and staff. The program aims to place select students in intellectually challenging, professional-level, on-campus jobs that provide opportunities to apply knowledge and enhance skills while engaging in real-life work assignments. StuPros work collaboratively with colleagues under the mentorship of a university faculty member or administrator. These positions provide professional-level work experience that will enhance competitive advantage when seeking post-graduation employment.
