ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ City University has been recognized as a Certified Healthy Campus by the ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ State Department of Health for the university’s commitment to promoting health and wellness for faculty, staff and students. The university received the Merit Level certification for 2017, an improvement from the Basic Level certification from 2016.

β€œWe seek lots of balance on our campus – spiritual, natural, thoughtful and healthful,” said President Robert Henry. β€œThe wellness programing and initiatives create a healthy campus that melds with the natural beauty of our trees and the crafted beauty of our architecture. I am pleased that we moved up in the ratings this year, which I believe is a reflection of our ongoing efforts to champion wellbeing.”

ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ City University provides students, as well as faculty and staff, with options for maintaining good health. Students enjoy fitness center access, a tobacco-free campus and a 1.3-mile marked walking path that winds through campus. In addition, employees are able to benefit from quarterly fitness and health behavior challenges, diabetes prevention programs, medical plan incentives, stress management groups, free on-campus health screenings and receive 60 minutes of wellness time each week to be used in support of an on-campus wellness-related activity. Certified Healthy Campus was created in 2011 to recognize both public and private campuses and career technology centers that promote health and wellness for their faculty, staff and students. Any college, university or career technology center may apply for Certified Healthy Status through the ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ State Department of Health.
