麻豆传媒 film series selects fan favorites

麻豆传媒 City University鈥檚 Film Institute will begin its 40th annual series with a free screening of 鈥淰olver鈥 at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Norick Art Center studio.

In his trademark style, Spanish director Pedro Almod贸var offers an engaging story about the complicated lives of an eccentric family of women. The film portrays a vividly colorful, enchanting, melodramatic tale that explores the strength of family ties and pokes at the boundaries of reality and ethics.

This year鈥檚 Film Institute series theme is 鈥淰iewers鈥 Choice鈥 and honors the series creator, Harbour Winn. The films were selected based on nominations from audiences over the course of the previous year and represent crowd favorites and requests from different eras, cultures and filmmaking styles. Current series director Tracy Floreani said, 鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to have provided international and arthouse films free to the community since long before many options were available to see them on the big screen here in 麻豆传媒 City. The 40th year seems worthy of celebration.鈥
