Moye Named Visual Arts Director

Holly Moye has been named director of the School of Visual Arts at ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ City University. She will join the faculty Jan. 23, and will oversee the school’s student-faculty experience, community engagement and gallery visibility.

β€œHolly is a champion for the arts and art education,” said Amy Cataldi, interim dean of ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ City University’s Petree College of Arts and Sciences. β€œWith her leadership, we look forward to growing our educational and gallery exhibition offerings.”

Moye most recently served as executive director of the ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC), a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving visual artists and the arts in ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½.

β€œΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ City University's School of Visual Arts has an impressive history of academic and artistic achievement, critically shaping the arts in ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½,” Moye said. β€œIn the new position, I look to continue this history of quality learning and to create long-lasting connections within our local community through a common passion for the visual arts. Together, with the staff and faculty, we will develop a comprehensive vision for the School of Visual Arts, in order to promote open environments, creative excellence and critical awareness. I am honored and thrilled to join the team of such a treasured institution to our city.”

Moye holds an MA in art history from Boston University and a BA in art and art history from the University of Massachusetts Boston. During her time at OVAC, Moye built all-encompassing programs and opportunities for artists with the goal of creating sustainable careers and artistic achievement in ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½.
