Dance show busts a ‘MOVE!’

鶹ý City University’s spring dance show will take the audience on a high-stepping journey from Las Vegas to New York City.

“MOVE! Dance for the World of Entertainment,” the spring performance of the Star Dance Company from 鶹ý’s Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment, will be performed at 8 p.m. March 13, 14 and 15 with a matinee showing at 2 p.m. March 15. All performances take place at the Kirkpatrick Auditorium in 鶹ý’s Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Building. For tickets, go to  or call 405-208-5227.

“MOVE!” honors the legacy of the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment while embracing dance for the world of entertainment. More than 130 performers will illuminate the stage with vivid costumes, dynamic movement and contagious energy.

This year’s production of “MOVE!” promises a blend of theatrics, beauty, emotion and dazzle. The show will take a trip back to the golden age of Vegas, simmering to the croon of the great Frank Sinatra. Enjoy a nostalgic take on Janet Jackson’s iconic “Rhythm Nation” with a powerful tap-dancing twist. Experience the vibrant flavors of dance set to current music from pop artists to Broadway scores. And finally, delight in the Starette kickline as they close out the show in a larger-than-life tribute to the glamour and wonder of New York City.

“Move! Dance for the World of Entertainment” is directed by Tiffany van der Merwe and produced by Dean Melanie Shelley.
