The Letβs Talk About It, ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ book discussion series at ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ City University will conclude its season with βThe Sleepy Hollow Family Almanacβ by Kris DβAgostino at 7 p.m. March 10 in Walker Center room 151.
In the book, the Moretti family has problems: a dying father, a stressed-out mother, two millennial generation sons living at home, a pregnant teenaged daughter, an overdue mortgage. One son, Calvin, has left film school and tries to do the right thing, if he can just figure out what that is.
The discussion series is made possible through a grant from the ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ Humanities Council. At each session in the five-part series, a humanities scholar makes a presentation on the book in the context of the theme. Small group discussions follow with experienced discussion leaders. At the end, all participants come together for a brief wrap-up.

Winn, director of the Center for Interpersonal Study through Film & Literature at ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½, said the series, titled βThe Dynamics of Dysfunction: To Laugh or Cry or Both,β is focusing on dysfunctional family relationships.
βMany great works of literature since time immemorial have explored issues of relationship problems within the family unit,β he said. βLook no further than the tortured families of Joseph with that colorful coat or Noah after the flood in the Old Testament. William Shakespeare, too, penned a couple of dramas featuring some rather unbalanced families.β
